Developing Emotional Literacy Through Storytelling

The developing emotional literacy course will explore why outdoor settings are perfect for developing emotional resilience and self-regulation and how the practitioner can facilities this. The day is practical, hands on and experiential. The day is based on learning and practicing the tools and activities that can promote emotional development through play, storytelling and puppetry.

Each participant will take away a copy of the activities & tools used during the day.

The course aims:

  • To give each participant the tools and insight they need to use free play opportunities in the outdoors to promote emotional development & literacyskills.
  • To give participants a bank of stories, songs and games to use in their own settings.
  • To introduce participants to the Emotion Works approach to support the development of emotional literacy.
