Come along and learn basic green woodworking whilst developing your numeracy skills through practical workshops to construct a Celtic inspired round house.
The Celts built their roundhouses from the natural materials available to them. This roundhouse build takes its inspiration from our ancestors and is being built in the same way using only the natural materials available on or near to the land. This project will be completed in 3 phases to gain a good range of skills using traditional green woodworking tools. 
No previous experience required!

Phase 1:

Phase 1 we will be preparing and erecting the ring support posts by measuring the posts 

Phase 2:

Phase 2 we will creating the roof beams.

Phase 3:

Phase 3 we will be creating the living roof.

Eligibility and cost:

The course is funded through Multiply and is free for any parents in Rhondda Cynon Taf who do not have a level 2 or above in maths (GCSE A*-C /Essential Skills Level 2) or no longer feel confident in Maths/Numeracy and would like to develop and refresh your competency.

*You do not have to attend every single session to take part but you must attend at least one morning and one afternoon to receive a funded space. You will also need to be happy to fill out a funding form to be sent to the funder.

If you are not eligible for the funding you can still join in for a small fee of £5 per session which will cover the cost of tuition, tools, lunch and hot drinks.
