We are delighted to announce that our social enterprise, Cyfleon has been awarded a funding grant of £10,000 from Meadow Prospect, the charitable arm of RCT Homes, the largest social landlord in Wales.

Its been an amazing week for us, as we received national coverage and support of our project at Dare Valley Country Park to create Wales’ 1st Nature Kindergarten and introduce a different way of developing our nursery age children.

The impact of this funding will go way beyond the £value of the award as we can being phase 2 of our woodland development which includes fencing the woodland and other security measures. Part of the funding will go towards small scale conservation volunteer projects such as dry-stone walling, round-house building and creating an outdoor kitchen and clay oven.

We are still seeking funding for a Volunteer Coordinator position and sensory garden, so we can take these projects and make them into amazing volunteer programmes with individual and groups getting involved with developing our woods.

In return we will work with Meadow Prospect to identify opportunities for residents of RCT to visit us and take part in our outdoor nature and adventure activities…which is one of the reasons we are developing our woods and building resources; so we can help get local people outdoors participating in fun and simple activities with their families.

A big thanks to Hayley Teague of Meadow Prospect, and all the team at the Tower Fund, but it was Hayley who took the time to visit us and understand who we are, why we exist and what we are doing. That personal touch makes all the difference.
